In nature - a tree up to 6-8 m tall, in room conditions - up to 2.5 meters. The bark is light grey. The leaves are very decorative, alternate, on long petioles, 15-18 cm long, 14-16 cm wide, ovate, deeply palmately 5-lobed, rounded or slightly heart-shaped at the base, glabrous above, pubescent below. The upper 3 lobes are long with the greatest width above the middle, less often the leaves are 3-lobed or entire. Seed fruits are edible, pear-shaped, dark purple, 3-5 cm long, on long stalks.
Agricultural technology.
Prefers bright, warm places. The ideal temperature in summer is + 25 + 30 ° C (watering with plenty of warm water and frequent spraying, but the earth between waterings should dry out). In winter + 10 + 16 ° C with very moderate watering. Responds well to sprays. For very young plants, a light and permeable soil mixture is suitable: turf and leaf soil, peat and sand in equal proportions. Seeds are sown on a well-moistened soil substrate and sprinkled with sand. The container is covered with glass and placed in a bright, warm place, providing the germinating seeds with a temperature of + 25 + 27 ° C.
